Messages/Memories

Dr Ashok Raj Koul left for his heavenly abode a month back. The whole family has yet to come out of this sudden, unexpected and irreparable loss. We all are missing his absence with sorrow. We humbly pray Almighty to grant place to the departed soul in His feet and courage, fortitude and strength to all members of the family to bear this loss.

I had just started microsurgery. And I had approached him hesitantly at a conference for some videos. He simply told me to get a CD and come along. Next day I met him and he sat beside me in the conference hall and transferred a few of his collections from his laptop. And he on his own added a free groin flap to the list. It has been many years since, but the way he made me, an unknown face to him, feel happy - is a memory that is still a warmer. Thank you Sir. Have a great time in the heavens.

Received advice for a decade necessarily twice a week, why twice a week? Because, he was running walk-in OPD’s on every Tuesday and Saturday but on call/duty for 24/7/365 days. Dear Sir, Not a day goes by when you are not loved and missed. Held in our hearts and you will be remembered forever. In SPARSH, he knew only one name for all the Non-medical problems fortunately it’s me. I am blessed to interact with such a charming personality for a decade, who had transformed countless lives miraculously by saving their Limbs. There are no words to express my grief. "I thank Dr Ashok Koul sir (and his team Praveen sir, Sushil sir, Beena mam, Subhash sir, and Venkatesh Rao sir, Sharan patel sir, sisters and brothers) who treated me nearly for 60-70 days to become normal person and to lead my life as how I was before. I met Ashok sir in an unfortunate circumstance in 2011; I had met with an accident and my left leg fully burst open and lost almost all muscles. I was brought to sparsh hospital; my parents and friends thought that I was no more to them. I was admitted to hospital and Dr. Ashok sir and his team took up the challenge to save me and my leg as much as possible. I have not met any good doctor like Ashok sir before in my life. With his talent and work I was saved. After I was discharged from the hospital while taking rest at home, my parents used to speak about him to my relatives and friends about him and how such good doctor if not taken up my case, no other specialist could do better in the condition I was in. While listening to these, I realized at what a bad condition I went in to the hospital. I was going for check up once every 15 days and Dr Ashok and his team would talk me as a family member. Never he treated me as a patient. Such a good person I met in my life. And he used to show my case to some of his colleagues in hospital and ask them questions on how we can do better to me. Eventhough he is the Chief surgeon he used to ask for any better ideas with is team without any ego. Now am okay with my condition I am doing my work myself and am going to college as before. Sorry to hear the bad news. Me and my family miss you so much, and you are in my family's hearts .."
